Bill Whyte is a singer, songwriter, comedian, comedy writer, performer and radio personality. His songs have been recorded by Joe Nichols, Ray Stevens, Brady Seals, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, Cledus T. Judd and others. His song “Safe Haven” was on the Grammy winning album “Love Remains” for Hillary Scott and the Scott Family in 2017. He’s had a number one gospel bluegrass song “He’s A Coming” for Darin and Brooke Aldridge and a song he co-wrote with Gulf Coast favorite Brent Burns “Don’t Come A Knockin’ was the title track on “If The Tiki Hut’s Rockin” that won Trop Rock Album Of The Year.
As a long time major market morning radio broadcaster with stops in Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Indianapolis and Nashville he’s won a CMA Award and was given radio’s highest honor when he was inducted into the Cuntry Radio Broadcasters Hall Of Fame in 2012. He’s still on the air for 650 AM WSM the radio home of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Bill is also a 30 year comedy song writer for United Stations in New York supplying morning radio shows across the country with funny country parody songs about something topical in the news.
He performs in two trios including “Evening In The Round” with Grammy winner Linda Davis and her husband Lang Scott as well as “Hits & Grins” with Steve Dean and Victoria Venier.
He’s recorded two comedy song albums “Off The Wall” and “Leave Em’ Laughin”.
And in 2017 the Gateway Country Music Association in Bill’s home state of Missouri presented him the Lifetime Achievement Award.
