As a songwriter and artist, Tammy has had four songs hit #1 on independent Christian and Country charts. She was the Country Music Hall of Fame’s 2009 Nominee for the Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer Award, and was awarded VSA Tennessee’s 2015 Artist of the year.
Her most important role is being a mother. Tammy has two “pretty remarkable” daughters. She became a strong advocate for autism awareness after her younger daughter was diagnosed with autism at age 3. Tammy is the producer and host of the annual “Breaking The Chains” Autism Benefit, held at the Bluebird Café. May 2016 marks the event’s 15th anniversary.
