Micheal Smotherman started playing music at a very young age, playing keyboards and singing with several bands that included the national touring and recording group Buckwheat. After Buckwheat broke up, he joined Captain Beefheart’s band for a tour of Europe and the States. He then joined Roger Miller’s band, who coincidentally was from the same small Oklahoma town of Erick. Roger took him under his wing and graciously had him play his songs for Roger’s friends, who began recording them. He has had songs recorded by Glen Campbell, Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, Brooks & Dunn, Trace Adkins, Cher, Luther Vandross, Kenny Rogers, Cher, Tom Jones, Kenny Chesney, Anita Pointer, Earl Thomas Conley, Lynn Anderson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Michael Martin Murphy, Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and many others. He has also toured with Glen Campbell and Mick Fleetwood. He is single and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
