Jim Sales was first introduced to the guitar as a toddler watching his Grandmother play hymns. His Dad showed him his first three chords when he was 10. Since then music has been his passion. He served in the U.S. Army as a radio/TV announcer. After the Army, Jim moved to Nashville and took a job as guitarist for country legend, Vern Gosdin. They co-wrote Jim’s first hit song, “I Wonder Where We’d Be Tonight.” It went Top 10 with Billboard for Gosdin and led to a publishing deal with the prestigious Welk Music Group for Sales. Vern says, “Jim should have been a star long ago. I think he is the most entertaining singer/songwriter I’ve ever met.” Jim also scored several cuts by various other artists including Randy Travis. Today he is happily married and resides in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee where he continues to write, produce, and perform. He holds a Bachelor of University Studies degree with an emphasis in Recording Industry Management from MTSU.
