Runaway Home is a Panoramic-Americana band founded by two intrepid dreamers and schemers, Mark Elliott & Gary Culley who have been making music together for over 26 years. As songwriters, they have written for many of Nashville’s top publishing houses including Sony Music, Maypop, and Bluewater Music, and with cuts from country to bluegrass (including Neal McCoy, Chris LeDoux and Continental Divide.) They have recorded 11 albums between them and have won many performing songwriting awards, including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award.
It’s no accident that the ultimate Americana soundtrack for the road is consummated by folks who spend a tonof time on the road. Sometimes travelling as a duo, and sometimes as a full band, these two friends and musical vagabonds have taken their music to audiences far and wide. The band’s mantra has always been, “It’s themusic that makes us smile.” That’s doubly true for audiences they have made happy along the way with their rootsy, Americana mix, from small folk rooms to opera houses, grange halls, festivals, and even to the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
The road audiences have been treated to performances of a debut record that has caught the ear of MarciaCampbell of Nashville’s WSM Radio, who said, “Runaway Home delivers a gem with their timeless collection of music that takes you to another place. Great songs, strong vocals and sweet harmonies!”
