Runaway Home is a Panoramic-Americana band founded by two intrepid dreamers and
schemers, Mark Elliott & Gary Culley who have been making music together for over 26 years.
As songwriters, they have written for many of Nashville’s top publishing houses including Sony
Music, Maypop, and Bluewater Music, and with cuts from country to bluegrass (including Neal
McCoy, Chris LeDoux, and Continental Divide.) They have recorded 11 albums between them
and have won many performing songwriting awards, including the prestigious Kerrville New
The band’s early mantra has been “It’s the music that makes us smile.” True that and doubly
true for friends and fans they have connected with in venues like The Dosey Doe Café outside of Houston, the Clayton Opera House and Pickens in upstate New York, the Bluebird Café, and even the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.
The band just released a new album, their third, called “Gotta Get Outside. “This album sums up their 26-year friendship in music and wilderness. It rings with every valley they have camped in, flows with every river they have kayaked and canoed down, and soars with every mountain they have summited. Moreover, of course, this set of music echoes from every stage they have played together over the last quarter century. Gotta Get Outside has thirteen new and old songs written about, and in many cases, within, the wilderness Runaway Home so loves.
