Sixty-seven year old veteran songwriter Jimbeau Hinson, signed his first pub deal at sixteen, signed his first record deal and won his first ASCAP award at 18. He’s written hits for: The Oak RIdge Boys (Fancy Free & Grammy Nominated COLORS), Steve Earle (Hillbilly Highway), David Lee Murphy (Party Crowd) and Brenda Lee (Broken Trust). His songs have been recorded by Tammy Wynette, Reba McIntire, Patty Loveless, Tracy Lawrence, Carl Perkins, Lee Greenwood, Ty Herndon, John Conlee, Rita Coolidge, Billy Burnette, Rodney Crowell and many many others. Also known for his passionate and riveting live performances, Hinson toured with every Grand Old Opry Star in his teens, was Star Search Semi Finalist 1988 and recently released a critically acclaimed cd on Wrinkled Records. Rex Jones of the University of Mississippi Film and Documentary Department chose Jimbeau as the subject of the award winning documentary Beautiful Jim, chronicling Hinson’s 34 year battle against HIV in the good ole boy world of Country Music. Jimbeau now HIV undetectable, lives with his wife of 36 years, Brenda Fielder on their ranch in TN where he mentors to a host of up and coming writers as well as old familiar names in the world of songwriting and entertainment.
