Barrier, Jarrod

Jarrod Barrier is a singer-songwriter currently based in North Alabama. He was raised in
a musical family and has been writing songs since he was a teenager. While attending
college at the University of Alabama, he was introduced to another guitar-pickin North
Alabama native, by the name of Wayne Mills. They quickly developed a close
friendship, which led to Wayne Mills recording a number of his songs, including Crossin’
Dixie, Alabama Blues, and Redneck Hippie. Never pursuing music professionally,
Jarrod has just recently become involved with the Last Honky Tonk Music Series, which
was created to honor his fallen friend. This association with such a passionate group of
talented writers and musicians has inspired numerous new songs and collaborations,
including Outlaw Baby, which is a duet with Brigitte London released on her latest
album Bayou. Major influences include American singer-songwriters, such as Guy
Clark, John Prine, and Townes Van Zandt.
